Iranian Flag Specification
The flag of Iran as outlined by Iran Flag Project is a horizontal green–white–red tricolour charged with a gold Lion and Sun emblem. This design reflects the historic Iranian national flag that was used officially until 1979 and continues to be used and recognised by the Iranian people, both in Iran and abroad, as the true flag of the country.

The flag of Iran is defined as an equal-height green–white–red horizontal tricolour with an aspect ratio of 4:7. The flag measures 120 × 210 units. A gold Lion and Sun emblem measuring 39 × 54 units is centred horizontally on the white band and positioned directly atop the red band.
The Lion and Sun emblem consists of a gold male lion positioned before a rising sun. The lion stands upon a thin horizontal base and holds a shamshir in its forepaw. The sun is depicted as a plain disc with straight rays. No crown, wreath, or additional ornaments form part of the standard emblem. The thickness of the outline is 0.35 units, and the base is 46 units wide.
White is pure white and black is pure black. The colours of the flag are specified as follows: green Pantone 7739 C (hex
#319B42), gold Pantone 1235 C (hex#FFBB26), and red Pantone 485 C (hex#DA291C).
